The society was registered on 28th December 1972 mainly to serve employees of the then Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.
Though the Sacco still draws Bulk of its membership from Ministry of ICT and Kenya Broadcasting Corporation, the society revised its By-laws and opened up its membership to anyone who wished to join the society.
As such, Sauti Sacco membership comprise those employed and self-employed. Sauti Sacco membership stands at 1584 as of January, 2021.
The society has its headquarters situated in Nairobi South B along Kapiti Road, Kapiti Crescent and has 15 branches across the country.
